Regulating the Forestry Profession

Professionalism in Public Forest Stewardship

The role of the ASFP is to regulate the practice of professional forestry and the forestry profession in Saskatchewan by ensuring its members are qualified, competent, and practice in an ethical manner. Acting under the authority of The Forestry Professions Act, the ASFP provides assurance to the public that the Provincial Crown forests are being managed by qualified and regulated professionals. This public duty puts a spotlight on the accountability and professionalism of the foresters, technologists, and restricted members who are ASFP members. In turn, this protects the public interest and strengthens trust and confidence in how the public forests of Saskatchewan are managed.
